WATCH: Pivoted offense leads Rams over Loyola Chicago

After offensive miscues early, coaching adjustments from Rhode Island Head Coach Tammi Reiss re-stabilized Rhode Island’s course to success as the Rams took down Loyola Chicago on Sunday 67-49.

With two and a half minutes left in the first quarter, the Rams and Ramblers had combined for seven points and eight fouls. However, when the Rams decided to go to the paint to establish their size mismatch, the scoring flood opened up for the Rams.

Senior center Harsimran “Honey” Kaur led the Rams with 15 rebounds, scoring 16 points as well; senior guard Sophie Phillips also carried a heavy load on the afternoon, leading all players with 17 points.

Rhode Island is back in action this Wednesday, when they travel down to Fordham to take on another Ram team in the Atlantic 10. The battle of the Rams tips-off from Rose Hill at 6:30 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+ with an audio broadcast available on the Varsity Network.
